Cocktail Waitress, 23, Man Found Slain in Her Apartment
An unidentified man and a 23-year-old cocktail waitress were found shot to death on the floor of the woman’s Santa Ana apartment Monday, more than six hours after neighbors reportedly heard the shots, police said.
Santa Ana Police Lt. Robert Helton said a resident of the apartment complex in the 1100 block of West Civic Center Drive apparently heard the shots at about 5 a.m., but the apartment manager was not told until about 11:30 a.m., when she called police.
“When we entered the apartment, it was obvious to us they had been dead for some time,” Helton said.
Both the woman, whose identity was being withheld until relatives could be notified, and the man had been shot numerous times in the chest, Helton said.
Helton said police have no witnesses or motives for the slayings.
There was no sign of forced entry nor were the woman’s belongings disturbed, he said.
