Santa Clarita / Antelope Valley : Woman Found Dead in Palmdale
A boy riding his bicycle along a dirt road Tuesday afternoon discovered a woman’s body in an open field, authorities said.
The woman, who authorities suspect was murdered, was found between Sierra Highway and 10th Street East south of Avenue R, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Detective Mike Crowley said.
“It looks like she was killed right there in that area,” he said, declining to say how that conclusion was drawn. “As to motive or cause, we don’t know.”
Crowley said the woman is believed to be either white or a light-skinned Latino, but because no identification was found on her the coroner will have to identify her through fingerprints or dental records.
“We won’t know anything more until we do the autopsy,” said Crowley.
