Police investigators are searching for a 28-year-old suspect in connection with an apparent homicide of a Fullerton man who was found shot in a parking lot Sunday.

Orange Police Lt. Timm Browne said Rudy Allen Gomez of Fullerton became a suspect in the shooting death after he was involved in an accident in the victim’s car later that day in Anaheim.

Gomez was taken to UC Irvine Hospital, where he was treated for cuts to his face and an injury to his knee. He left the hospital Sunday and has not been seen since then, Browne said.

“Blood and evidence from the vehicle were not consistent with the minor injuries Gomez received from the traffic collision,” Browne said.

The body of the victim, Robert Andrew Williams, 34, was discovered at 10:46 a.m. Sunday in the covered parking lot of an office building at 1700 W. Katella Ave. It was not known how long the man had been dead, and no witnesses were found.

Gomez, who Browne said has ties to a Fullerton-area gang, has several tattoos, including “Speedy” on his left hand, “FTT” on his neck and “Brown Magic” on his back.

Anyone with information on Gomez or the shooting is asked to call the Orange Police Department hot line at (714) 744-7520. Ask for Detective Desouza.
