Brazil escaped from one of the biggest disgraces in the history of the World Cup (by beating the United States, 1-0). It was an embarrassing victory over a mediocre team that lacked imagination. Brazil--a team without personality and scared--surprisingly against one of the weakest rivals in the eight finals, helped lower the average of goals in this phase of the tournament.
