The Eastern all-stars scored four consecutive goals in the third quarter and defeated the Western all-stars, 11-6, in the first Roller Hockey International All-Star game, played in front of 16,150 Saturday night at the P.N.E. Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, British Columbia.

East goalie Bill Pye of the Minnesota Arctic Blast allowed only one goal in the final 24 minutes.

Randy Smith of the St. Louis Vipers was the offensive star for the East, recording a hat trick with goals in the first, third and fourth quarters.

The West’s biggest offensive output came late in the second quarter when it scored two goals in less than a minute, one by Craig Coxe of the Phoenix Cobras and the other by Scott Daniels of the Las Vegas Flash. Both goals went past goaltender Manon Rheaume, the first woman to play in an NHL exhibition game. She is now playing for the New Jersey Rockin Rollers.

Bullfrogs goalie Rob Laurie, who had a league record 64 saves in a game against the San Diego Barracudas earlier in the season, was the lone all-star selection for Anaheim.
