A 63-year-old Camarillo man was killed after being struck by a flatbed truck at the Agoura rubbish company where he worked, authorities said Saturday.

Floyd Bahian Undag was walking across the junkyard at the Hillside Rubbish Co. on Friday evening when he was hit by a refuse driver, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Richard Smith said.

The driver, Vincente Orroteza of Oxnard, had stopped his truck to speak to someone at the dump site in the 29000 block of Agoura Road, Smith said. As Orroteza began to drive away, he turned the truck and ran over Undag.

A witness tried to call out for the driver to stop, but Orroteza did not hear his cries, Smith said.

“The witness apparently saw (Undag) carrying a pair of shoes in his hand and then saw the same shoes lying on the ground as the truck pulled out,” said Sheriff’s Lt. Richard Moak. “That is when he started to yell out to the driver.”

Moak said Cal/OSHA was notified and will be conducting its own investigation.
