A survey of local ticket brokers on Saturday during the World Cup consolation game found tickets for today’s final available at inflated rates and going quickly.

The highest demand--and biggest price hikes--were for the Cup’s least expensive tickets, Category III.

When contacted at about 1 p.m., a broker at Ticket Outlet’s Pasadena store said its Category III tickets had sold out an hour earlier, selling for at least $300.

Musical Chairs tickets in Brentwood had sold out of Category III tickets “about five minutes ago,” when contacted next, though Category II seats were available for $550 and two remaining Category I seats were $750.

The Beverly Hills’ Ticket Outlet location had the priciest listings, with top Category I tickets at $1,250. The cheapest Category I was $750.

The three categories of tickets for the final sold with face values of $475 for Category I, the best seats, mostly between the goal lines; $300 for Category II in the Rose Bowl’s corners; and $180 for Category III, primarily behind the goal.

Applause Tickets in Encino had Category I beginning at $500, but was sold out of Category IIIs listed at $325.

And Good Time Tickets in Hollywood was asking $350 for Category III tickets--almost double the face value--but had Category I tickets beginning at face value.

Prices were similar at VIP tickets in Sherman Oaks, with Category I tickets selling for as little as $500, with IIIs beginning at $375.

Al Brooks ticket agency was sold out of Category I and II, but wanted $425--2 1/2 times face value--for behind-the-goal Category III seats.

Ticket Time in Los Angeles was asking a little less than most for III--$325--but had Category I in several places, with varying prices.

A near-list $525 could get tickets in the 60th row, but up-close seats between the penalty areas were $950.

The Beverly Hills Ticket Outlet, they of the $1,250 seat, wanted $450 for Category III.

Orange County brokers were more likely to be sold out than L.A. brokers, possibly because of the heavy influx of ticket-hungry Brazilian fans into the area.

Night On The Town in Santa Ana was sold out, Ticket Outlet’s Anaheim office had only Category III for $450 each or $800 for a pair, and Megan’s Tickets in Irvine had only Category I seats remaining for $750.
