Low-income residents of Fillmore, Piru and Simi Valley whose homes suffered cosmetic damage in January’s earthquake may qualify for free repair work through a program announced Wednesday.

Families with annual incomes falling below the federal poverty level are eligible to apply for up to $1,500 worth of minor repairs.

Repairs covered in the program include replacement of cracked windows and doors.

The program is called the “Community Partnership for Earthquake Repair.”

The project is being funded with $300,000 from Southern California Gas Co., the state Department of Economic Opportunity, the Ventura County Commission on Human Concerns and the Job Training Policy Council.
