User Friendly, a 5-year-old mare who was a champion in Europe in 1992, made her U.S. debut at Del Mar on Friday and won a $55,000 allowance race by 1 1/4 lengths.

User Friendly went into the race with seven victories in 13 starts and earnings of $1.7 million, most of that coming in 1992 when she won major races in England and Ireland. Trainer Rodney Rash, who started training the mare late last year, had been prevented from running User Friendly sooner because she had a bruised hoof.

Ridden by Chris Antley, User Friendly came from off the pace to finish 1 1/16 miles on grass in 1:44 1/5 and paid $3.20. Rash said her next race will be either the Beverly D. Stakes for fillies and mares at Arlington International on Aug. 27 or the Arlington Million the next day.
