Woman Dies in Accident on Freeway
An Acton woman died Sunday when her husband apparently lost control of their car and it rolled down a steep embankment off the Antelope Valley Freeway, authorities said.
The accident occurred about 11:15 a.m. on the north side of the freeway, said Officer Frank Lewis of the California Highway Patrol.
The victim’s husband and her two children were airlifted to Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center in Lancaster, Lewis said. Their identities were not released.
A nursing supervisor at the hospital said she expected the children’s father to be treated and released from the hospital Sunday, but said she could not provide information on the children’s condition.
The crash is under investigation, Lewis said.
