A man and woman were arrested after leading police on a brief, one-mile chase that ended when their vehicle ran a red light and struck another car, police said Sunday.

Kevin Kerry McClure, 23, of Anaheim and Linda Sue Zeski, 32, of Lake Havasu, Ariz., were treated at Western Medical Center-Anaheim for injuries suffered in the accident about 9:15 p.m. Saturday. Both were then booked at the hospital’s jail ward, police said.

McClure was arrested on suspicion of felony evading police. Zeski was arrested on suspicion of check forgery and possession of stolen property, police said.

While fleeing, McClure and Zeski were in a car that ran a red light and then struck another car at Imperial Highway and Harbor Boulevard. The driver of the second car, Mill Alexander Conroy, 41, and Conroy’s passenger, Theresa Lynnelle Freeman, 35, both of Rowland Heights, were treated at and released from St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, a hospital spokeswoman said.

A man and a woman tried to pass a stolen check about 9 p.m. Saturday at Marshall’s Department Store, 945 E. Birch St., police were told.

Police were called to the store, but before they arrived, the couple left the store and drove away on Imperial Highway.

Initially, a car driven by McClure slowed, but then accelerated rapidly along Imperial, where it ran a red light at Harbor Boulevard and struck Conroy’s car, police said.
