THOUSAND OAKS : 2 Masked Gunmen Rob Pizza Parlor

Share

Two masked gunmen entered a Thousand Oaks pizza parlor through the back door late Saturday, held guns to the heads of two employees and forced them to open a safe before fleeing with cash, investigators said Sunday.

Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said the two entered the Lamppost Pizza restaurant in the 1100 block of Lindero Canyon Road about 11:20 p.m. Saturday, wielding guns and demanding cash.

No one was hurt in the incident, in which the men escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Investigators said it was unclear whether the incident is related to a series of pizzeria robberies in east Ventura County over the past two months.

“We do kind of have a trend that’s going on here,” Sgt. Derek West said. “This was the fourth one in the last month or so.”

Aaron Sloan, a manager at the Lamppost Pizza, declined Sunday to discuss the robbery.

“It just happened (Saturday) night, and we haven’t had a chance to talk about it,” he said.
