NATIONAL ROUNDUP : Tabasco Cat Is Second in Saratoga’s Jim Dandy
Unaccounted For held off Preakness and Belmont winner Tabasco Cat to win the Grade II Jim Dandy Stakes by a length at Saratoga Sunday.
Unaccounted For, a well-beaten second in the mud in his previous start as the odds-on favorite, flourished on the firmer footing this time, covering 1 1/8 miles on the fast track in 1:49 2/5.
Unaccounted For, who paid $6.80, was also the recipient of a 14-pound weight break from Tabasco Cat. Both Unaccounted For and Tabasco Cat are expected to run against Holy Bull in the Travers Stakes on Aug. 20.
Holy Bull led the 1 1/8-mile Haskell Invitational Handicap at Monmouth Park wire to wire, winning by 1 3/4 lengths.
He was timed in 1:48 1/5 and paid $2.40. Meadow Flight was second, Concern third.
