NYELAND ACRES : Victim of Fatal Stabbing Identified
Ventura County coroner’s officials have identified the Nyeland Acres man who was stabbed to death during an argument with his roommate.
Jose Jesus Arredondo-Sanchez, 31, an employee at Vic’s Novelty store in Oxnard, died at St. John’s Regional Medical Center a short time after the 10:15 p.m. incident Friday.
Police arrested Arredondo-Sanchez’s roommate, Miguel Garabaldi, 38, following the stabbing. Garabaldi had first fled the scene but returned later to turn himself in.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in Ventura County Municipal Court on Tuesday on a homicide charge.
Investigators said the two men were drinking beer and watching television Friday night when they apparently began arguing. Garabaldi picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Arredondo-Sanchez once in the stomach, police said.
