Ventura County firefighters extinguished a garage fire in Oak View early Sunday after neighbors reported seeing smoke coming from the area.
Three dozen firefighters responded to 74 Calle Cinco de Mayo about 9:40 a.m. Sunday, putting out the blaze within 20 minutes.
“It never got to the house,” said Tracy Valencia, a county Fire Department spokeswoman.
Officials discovered ammunition inside the garage, but investigators were unable to immediately determine whether it played a part in starting the fire, Valencia said.
No one was injured in the blaze, and no damage estimate was available, officials said.
