Thomas J. Carto has been named director of development for the Pacific Symphony, effective Monday. He comes to Orange County from the Mansfield (Ohio) Symphony Society, where he was executive director and an assistant professor of music at Ohio Wesleyan University. Carto succeeds Ken Goldman, who has become development director of the Motion Picture and Television Fund Foundation in Woodland Hills.
