LOS ANGELES : LAPD Officer Arrested in Alleged Molestation
An Los Angeles Police Department officer has been arrested on sodomy charges stemming from the molestation of a 16-year-old former Explorer Scout at the department’s Southeast Division station, detectives said Wednesday.
Marvin A. Jackson, 35, a member of the LAPD for about 4 1/2 years, was taken into custody at his home in Hawthorne at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday by officers from the department’s Sexually Exploited Child unit.
The unit took action after the teen-ager filed a complaint Tuesday morning, officers said. Detectives said a search of Jackson’s home turned up evidence that corroborated the boy’s claims. Jackson was being held on $100,000 bail.
