Crash Kills Driver in Granada Hills
A 69-year-old woman died Monday morning when her car was struck by another vehicle as she tried to make a left turn, police said.
The victim, identified by police as Jean Morton of North Hills, was turning from Devonshire Street onto Hayvenhurst Avenue when she apparently failed to see the oncoming car that struck her vehicle, said Officer Ron White of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Witnesses to the 6:45 a.m. accident told police the traffic signal was green for both vehicles.
The driver of the other vehicle did not suffer life-threatening injuries, police said.
