OUTLOOK

The Coyotes have been plagued by injuries, including one to first team all-league quarterback Cabral, who helped get Buena Park get to the playoffs last season. The senior is hoping to return to play in October. Until then, the Coyotes will have to rely on Hudson, who also plays defensive back. Additionally, Ray, the tight end/linebacker who was an all-league second-team selection as a sophomore, is coming off an injury that kept him out of the entire 1993 season. But Buena Park and Rau seem to be able to make things happen, and there’s still Jones, an all-league running back. With the graduation of Wali Sibrie, the 6-foot-3, 270-pound offensive lineman who is now at Arizona State, the Coyotes are definitely not a huge team. Only one starter weighs more than 200 pounds. But what they don’t have in size, they make up for in quickness. But factors like whether Ray can duplicate his ’92 season and when Cabral returns might be the difference between a winning and losing campaign.
