Man Arrested on Suspicion of Kidnaping
A police Special Weapons and Tactics team stormed a house in Panorama City early Sunday and arrested a man on suspicion of kidnaping his girlfriend and holding her in a bathroom for six hours.
Sgt. Frank Reynoso of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division identified the suspect as Frank Fisher, 23.
The incident began about 1:30 a.m. when police arrived in the 13000 block of Tonopah Street on a domestic dispute call. Fisher had barricaded himself in the bathroom with his girlfriend and her daughter, police said.
The man released the younger woman but refused to let his girlfriend leave, Reynoso said. Members of the department’s SWAT team forced their way into the house at about 8 a.m. and arrested Fisher, Reynoso said. No one was hurt.
