Woman Dies as Car Turns Over on Highway
An unidentified woman was killed and a young passenger injured on the Golden State Freeway Sunday when their car turned over near Templin Highway north of Castaic, the California Highway Patrol reported.
A boy between 5 and 7 years old was airlifted to Childrens Hospital in Los Angeles, said CHP Officer Esmeralda Leos. The woman died at the scene, Leos said. Investigators did not know whether the victim and the boy were related.
The accident occurred at 11:23 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the freeway. No other vehicles were involved and there were no other injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation, Leos said.
