The San Diego Chargers waived safety James Fuller, four days after he was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon.
Veteran safety Lonnie Young will replace Fuller.

Two Green Bay Packer starters, left guard Guy McIntyre and right cornerback Roland Mitchell, probably will sit out the rest of the month and could be sidelined longer because of major injuries.
McIntyre has a blood clot in the leg that is being treated with anticoagulants. Mitchell has a herniated disk in his neck. . . . Washington Redskin Coach Norv Turner said that he will again play John Friesz and rookie Heath Shuler against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, but the two-quarterback system should end the next week.
