FAST FACT
Valley will feature a new quarterback for the fourth consecutive season, an oddity even by junior college standards.
OUTLOOK
His team loaded with inexperienced players, Fenwick is banking on a good crop of returnees and transfer players to keep the Monarchs competitive. The newcomers include Delmatoff and Arellanes, who will battle at quarterback. Last season at Pierce, Delmatoff passed for 1,961 yards and nine touchdowns. Arellanes saw limited action at Northern Arizona, passing for only 160 yards. The offensive line, although thin on veterans, packs a wallop with Markowitz and de la Torre. The team has solid defensive ends in Malikyan and Hufunga, and Buckley--an All-Western State Conference pick last season--anchors the linebackers. Cronk lends stability to the kicking game.
