MONTEREY PARK: Authorities are seeking help in identifying a man found shot to death Saturday near a vacant lot in the 800 block of Barnum Way. The man, whose body was discovered at 2:30 p.m., had been shot once in the back of the head and possibly dumped at the location, sheriff’s deputies said. The victim was described as Latino, in his late teens or early 20s. He was about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighed 150 pounds and had short black hair. He had numerous tattoos, including the word Rosario above his right knee and on both sides of his stomach; a butterfly above his right knee and the word Cesar and an eight ball above his left knee. He was wearing an oversize white T-shirt, khaki pants, white Nike shoes, a gold necklace and large hoop earrings. PASADENA: Two Pasadena men were in stable condition after being beaten and stabbed during an apparent argument with a group of men on North Madison Avenue, police said. Raul Martinez, 21, and Juan Martinez, 18, were reportedly stabbed in the neck, back and arms at 10:30 p.m. Saturday by four to six men who remain at large. The two victims, who are related, were taken to local hospitals. Raul Martinez suffered two punctured lungs. Police do not believe the incident was gang-related.

POMONA: A 13-year-old Pomona boy was in stable condition after being wounded in a gang-related shooting, police said. Jose Hernandez, who was shot in the abdomen and hip, was being treated at Pomona Valley Medical Center Hospital. The shooting occurred at 10:12 p.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of West Mission Boulevard, police said. Police arrested Walter Jefferson, 20, of Rialto, Andre Brown, 23, of Pomona, Lamarsha Kelso, 23, of Alta Loma and Mary Jackson, 22, of Pomona on suspicion of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit attempted murder. They were each being held on $500,000 bail. Jose and two friends were riding their bicycles when they passed the suspects, who were sitting in an auto, police said. One of the suspects began yelling at the boys and showing gang signs, police said. The boys tried to ride away but one of the suspects began firing a handgun, police said.

POMONA: A 33-year-old Pomona man has been arrested after allegedly threatening to kill his girlfriend and himself, and attacking officers. Erick Noble was arrested early Tuesday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, spousal abuse and being under the influence of cocaine after the 4:55 a.m. incident in the 2400 block of Logan Avenue, police said. Noble’s girlfriend, Cynthia Sykes, was unharmed. The Police Department’s hostage negotiators eventually convinced Noble, who reportedly threw knives at officers, to come out of the house. Noble was taken to Tri-City Medical Health Center for psychological evaluation, police said.
