COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Clements, With 15 Kills, Leads Northridge Past Pepperdine
Missy Clements had 15 kills and Aimee Stone and Heather Anderson each added 14 as Cal State Northridge defeated Pepperdine, 12-15, 15-8, 15-7, 15-8, in a nonconference women’s volleyball match Wednesday night.
The victory was the third in the last four matches for Northridge (7-5), which plays 20th-ranked San Diego on Friday.
Anderson, who had a .478 hitting percentage, led the Matadors with 12 digs and also had six total blocks.
Ana Kristich had a match-high 10 blocks for Northridge, which improved its record to 2-6 against Pepperdine.
With four solo blocks, Kristich moved to fifth on the Matador career list with 50.
MEN’S SOCCER
The Master’s 8, Whittier 0--Stephen Janho scored three goals and Patrick Smith added two for the Mustangs in a nonconference match at Newhall.
The Master’s (6-1) had 47 shots against goalkeeper Brett Schraeder, who made 11 saves. Timo Scheunemann, Daniel Leaman and Kurt Angelbeck each scored a goal for Master’s.
