Wisconsin Turns Over Ball, Game to Spartans : Big Ten: The 15th-ranked Badgers lose two fumbles, are intercepted twice as Michigan State wins, 29-10.

Duane Goulbourne scored two touchdowns and Michigan State’s defense came up with four turnovers as the Spartans defeated the 15th-ranked Badgers, 29-10, Saturday.

Wisconsin, 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the Big Ten, which had four turnovers in a 55-17 loss at Colorado, lost two fumbles and two interceptions to the Spartans (2-2, 1-0).

The Badgers, who came in averaging 523.7 yards on offense, were held to 297 yards. Michigan State had 420 yards, 259 on the ground.

The Badgers had to play the second half without quarterback Darrell Bevell, who left with a separated shoulder during Wisconsin’s only touchdown drive, late in the second quarter.

Bevell completed four of seven passes for three yards. Jay Macias finished for the Badgers, completing 10 of 17 for 68 yards with two interceptions.

Tony Banks, a junior college transfer from San Diego making his fourth start for the Spartans, completed 10 of 13 for 161 yards. He has gone 60 attempts without an interception. Goulbourne rushed 26 times for 115 yards.

Chris Gardner kicked field goals of 37, 28 and 19 yards and redshirt freshman Marc Renaud wrapped up the scoring on a 41-yard run for Michigan State.

Brent Moss, who rushed 27 times for 173 yards and one touchdown, joined former Heisman Trophy winner Alan Ameche and Billy Marek as Wisconsin’s only 3,000-yard rushers. Moss now has 3,125 yards.

Moss has rushed for at least 100 yards in 15 consecutive games.
