Share

Residents can see what the city’s 1,800 merchants have to offer at the Business Expo ’94 on today and Sunday.

The gathering of city businesses, an idea of the city Economic Development Commission and the local Chamber of Commerce, gives residents a chance to see what Mission Viejo has to offer without the expense and time of driving.

The Expo is the inaugural event in the city’s promotional effort to inform residents about shopping in their own community. It will be at Mission Viejo Mall on today from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Sunday, the event will take place from noon to 6 p.m.

“This campaign is designed to give everyone in our city a true sense of community,” said Ben Meharg, chairman of the commission. “We want to remind our neighbors that when they shop in their hometown, everybody wins.

“Their valuable tax dollars are returned to the city, and help improve the quality services Mission Viejo is known for,” he said.

A sampling of the goods and services on display during the Expo include home improvement, health and beauty, auto repair, children’s services and health care.
