In Orange Empire Conference women’s soccer:
Orange Coast 2, Palomar 1--Kristi Yoshikawa and Cayce Meade scored for visiting OCC (7-2, 4-1). Rebecca Comstock had eight saves.
Cypress 5, Fullerton 0--Cypress, the top-ranked team in the state, won its 29th consecutive conference game and shut out its 12th conference opponent in a row. Christy Rowe had one goal and two assists and Tracy Van Herk had three assists for Cypress (7-0, 5-0).
In Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer:
Rancho Santiago 2, Fullerton 0--Francisco Islas and Raul Montes scored for Rancho Santiago (7-1-2, 2-0). Scott Zinser had four saves for the Dons.
In Orange Empire Conference women’s Volleyball:
Saddleback 3, Cypress 0--Andrea Bill had 13 kills to lead visiting Saddleback (7-0, 3-0) over Cypress 20-18, 15-6, 15-8. Heather Dowhan had eight kills for Cypress (2-8, 0-3). In nonconference volleyball:
Long Beach 3, Fullerton 0--Pam Hause had eight kills for host Fullerton (3-6), which lost 16-14, 15-7, 15-6.
In South Coast Conference water polo:
Golden West 20, Cerritos 5--Ryk Wormgoor scored six goals in two quarters for Golden West (11-1, 2-0), the second-ranked team in the state.
Long Beach 11, Fullerton 9--Fullerton’s inability to score a third-quarter goal proved to be its demise. Paul Marceau and Ray Schmidt each had four goals for Fullerton, which drops to 12-6-1, 0-2.
In nonconference water polo:
Orange Coast 15, Cuesta 8--Kevin Bobzien and Shad Wicker each scored five goals to pace Orange Coast (10-5-1).
