BOYLE HEIGHTS : Meeting to Focus on Business Safety

Share

Business Watch, a Chamber of Commerce group formed to increase security of businesses near Olympic Boulevard and Soto Street, will hold a lunch meeting Wednesday at the Boyle Heights Police Substation. Business owners and residents are invited.

Firefighter Peter Killian will speak to the group on fire safety.

The group, formed last year, includes about 40 business owners who pool their resources to hire security patrols and graffiti removers. It held a trash pickup Sept. 24 that collected 10 tons of illegally dumped trash and tires.

The meeting will also include reports on the latest crime statistics for the area from the Los Angeles Police Department.
