GARDEN GROVE : 37 Men Are Arrested in Prostitution Sting
Undercover police arrested 37 men for soliciting prostitution during a sting operation Friday night and early Saturday) morning.
Three female officers posing as prostitutes were involved in the 6 1/2-hour operation, which targeted an increase in prostitution along Harbor Boulevard, Lt. John Woods said After an absence of two to three years, prostitutes appear to have returned to the street, Woods said, apparently chased out of Anaheim and Santa Ana. Both those cities have created police programs that target men soliciting prostitution.
“We have received information that activities have begun to reoccur,” Woods said. He added that the “john operation,” conducted from 8:30 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday, will be repeated.
Of the men arrested, 35 were released after being cited, and two were sent to jail for previous offenses.
