GLENDALE : Hospital Plans Blood Drive for Halloween
Instead of cavity-promoting sweets, Glendale Adventist Medical Center is suggesting that people give something different this Halloween--blood.
The hospital will hold a Red Cross blood drive from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 31 in the main auditorium, 1609 Wilson Terrace, and the public is encouraged to make an appointment. Just don’t be surprised if it’s a hook-nosed witch--or a vampire--removing the blood, because Red Cross volunteers will be in costume.
The hospital holds a blood drive in January but responded earlier when the Red Cross asked it to participate this fall, hospital spokeswoman Beth Powis said.
Donors are asked to call (818) 409-8100 for an appointment. They should bring photo identification card with them.
