Man Found Shot to Death in Apartment Complex Parking Lot
A man was found shot to death in the parking lot of a large Westminster apartment complex, and police said they have few clues about his assailant.
Si Van, 20, of Santa Ana, was found at 8:10 p.m. Saturday lying in the parking lot of the Cal Espana apartments at 15200 Magnolia St., said Lt. Richard Main of the Westminster Police Department. The man had been shot “numerous times” in the head and body and died at the scene, Main said.
Police had no motive in the shooting and were having trouble getting consistent information from witnesses, Main said. Witnesses gave differing descriptions of the suspects and the car in which they fled, Main said. Some said it was a blue or brown car, others said it was white or light-colored, he said.
“We believe it was a four-door sedan, a Honda-type vehicle,” Main said. “We have either one or three suspects outstanding, believed to be in their 20s.”
The parking lot serves several hundred apartments on Magnolia just south of Bolsa Avenue.
“This was no random drive-by,” Main said. “It looked like these people were obviously intent on making this guy the target.”
