COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : UCLA : This Scout Starting From Scratch

Share

The parade of NFL scouts that streams through UCLA practices every season had a new entry Tuesday. Rick Mueller has jobs with the Jacksonville Jaguars to offer.

The expansion team, which will participate in the draft for the first time in 1995, has 14 choices in the seven rounds, including the second overall, behind its expansion-mate, the Carolina Panthers.

“Scouting is scouting,” Mueller said. “We’re looking at the same thing everybody else is.”

But more things.

“Well, the difference is that we have to look at everybody,” he said. “We have a lot of spots to fill, so we will look at guys who would perhaps be free agents, too, instead of just the guys in the draft.”
