According to Fortune magazine, the county is home to four of the top companies on the Fortune 500 list.
Irvine appears to be the local center of corporate wealth: The city is home to three of the county’s four top companies.

A debate on Measure A, the El Toro Airport Initiative, begins at 7 p.m. at the Irvine City Council chambers.
The forum, sponsored by the Irvine Chamber of Commerce, will also be televised live on Dimension Cable Channel 3.
Supporters and opponents of a commercial airport at El Toro will participate in the forum. Irvine City Atty. Joel D. Kuperberg will describe the initiative and its potential impact on the city.
