Shandy Robbins, a senior forward at Marina, said Monday she has made an oral commitment to attend Oregon on a basketball scholarship.
Robbins averaged 17 points and 12 rebounds for Marina, which tied for the Sunset League title with Ocean View. She also made the Times’ All-Orange County team.
Robbins, who stands nearly 6 feet 1, visited Oregon last weekend and said she was impressed with almost everything.
“It fit all my needs,” she said. “I really liked the campus, the team was great, and I liked the coaching staff as well. It’s a big school and that’s important because I like to be around a lot of people.”
Robbins also took trips to Pepperdine, Loyola Marymount and UC Santa Barbara.
