Quake Aid Deadline Extended to Jan. 20
The deadline to apply for earthquake disaster assistance has been extended to Jan. 20, three days after the one-year anniversary of the Northridge quake, federal and state officials said.
The extension applies to applications for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s housing assistance program, the state-administered Individual and Family Grant Program, and the Small Business Administration’s disaster loan programs for homeowners, renters and business owners.
“This is the final extension of the application period for the Northridge earthquake,” said Frank Kishton, federal coordinating officer. “There will not be another extension.”
Residents may register for assistance at any earthquake service center or by calling (800) 462-9029. Residents with hearing and speech disabilities should call (800) 462-7585.
