OUTLOOK
Lloyd’s return to the Wildcats last season after a seven-year absence was less than triumphant--he took over the coaching chores Sept. 1 and in essence never caught up. But while Brea is still probably a year away, Lloyd vows this season will be different. “The kids know me, I know them, and we’re bigger, stronger, quicker and hopefully more skilled,” he said. “Now we have to put it together. In our league the team that puts it together best is the winner because the talent is evenly spread.” Heredia (5.9 points) and Bodiford (10.2), two all-league honorable mentions last season, run the backcourt and the team. But how far Brea goes may depend on how quickly Reff and Collier develop. If they don’t to Lloyd’s satisfaction, he’ll probably go with smaller, quicker players. For now, Lloyd doesn’t want to look beyond earning a playoff spot. But winning 10 games would give Lloyd 250 career victories.
