Police are searching for a man who killed one man and wounded two others in a shooting in a residential area early Thursday.

After an argument involving several young men in the 14000 block of Buena Street, the gunman opened fire with a “large caliber” semiautomatic pistol, according to Sgt. Paul Prince of the Garden Grove Police Department.

Police have been unable to identify the victim pronounced dead at the UCI Medical Center at 3:25 a.m., Prince said. The two other victims are 23-year-old Jose Manuel Sanchez and 32-year-old Antonio Aguilar, both of Garden Grove.

Sanchez suffered gunshot wounds in his right hand and back, and Aguilar was struck in the left hand and left leg, Prince said. Both men were taken to local hospitals, but police would not say which.

Police said the shooting does not appear to be gang-related.

The killer is described as about 19, Latino, 5-foot-9 and about 150 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Garden Grove Police Department at (714) 741-5707.
