Jamie Howard passed for touchdowns on plays of 47 and 34 yards in the fourth quarter and Louisiana State ended the Curley Hallman regime with a 30-12 victory over Arkansas on Saturday.

On the first play of the fourth quarter, Howard hooked up with Brett Bech on a 47-yard touchdown pass play that made the score 16-6.

Bech caught the ball at the 30 and split Dean Peevy and Mike Nunnerly. Peevy and Nunnerly were victimized minutes later when Howard passed down the right sideline and Sheddrick Wilson made a diving catch in the end zone.

Howard completed 14 of 24 passes for 223 yards.

Hallman was fired before LSU’s victory over Tulane on Nov. 19. The Tigers, 4-7 overall and 3-5 in the Southeastern Conference, were 16-28 during Hallman’s four seasons.

Arkansas (4-7, 2-6) took a tying field goal off the board in the second quarter and failed to score on a 79-yard drive in the third quarter. The Razorbacks failed to convert on fourth and one at the LSU 11.
