ANAHEIM : School Trustees Might Fill Vacancy
- Share via
Members of the Anaheim Union are expected to fill a vacancy on the board by making a temporary appointment.
The vacancy was created when trustee Lou Lopez was elected to the Anaheim City Council last month, two years short of the end of his term. The board will vote Monday on whether to appoint someone to fill the vacancy or to hold a special election. A special election would cost about $125,000 and could not be held until June.
If the board decides to appoint someone to complete Lopez’s term, it will probably do so by Jan. 31. District officials are recommending that applications be accepted until Jan. 5.
