Television: The new United Paramount Network is said to be near a deal with “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” creator Saban Entertainment to provide the new network with new children’s programming starting next fall. News of the alliance circulated at United Paramount’s affiliates gathering last week, where the network also disclosed that it has added 11 primary affiliates and 11 secondary affiliates, bringing to 94 the number of markets where the network’s programs will air. In addition, Paramount parent Viacom Inc. announced that it plans to buy Boston television station WSBK for about $100 million in a move that will also make it a United Paramount station. United Paramount is a joint venture of Chris-Craft Industries and Viacom’s Paramount Television Group.
