BURBANK : City Summits to Take Council on the Road

Share

The Burbank City Council and other city officials will take government on the road, hosting a series of four “neighborhood summits” over the next three months.

During its meeting at 7 p.m. today, the council is scheduled to finalize plans for the summits, wherein city officials will talk about issues facing the city and answer residents’ questions on city matters.

The program is a follow-up to a 23-question survey distributed to each of Burbank’s 41,000 households in September.

City officials said about 9,000 households filled out and returned the survey, a response of about 21%.

The survey information has been divided by census tracts, giving the city an idea of what issues are more important in each neighborhood. At each of the neighborhood summits, the city’s presentation will focus on those issues, officials said.

The tentative schedule for the summits is: Dec. 15 at Jordan Middle School, Jan. 12 at Jefferson Elementary School, Jan. 26 at Luther Burbank School and Feb. 16 at Emerson Elementary School. Each meeting is from 7 to 9 p.m.
