Countywide : Museum to Offer Children’s Workshops
Science and history will be explored in a series of workshops for children offered next week at the Discovery Museum of Orange County.
These hands-on workshops will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
“American Indian Adventures,” scheduled for Tuesday, will be led by Mark Mendez of the Chumash Nation of Southern California. Mendez will teach children ages 6 through 12 about Native American folklore using crafts, games and storytelling.
“Insect Detectives,” for ages 4 to 7, will be offered Wednesday. Children will make insect nets, go on a bug hunt, play games and make crafts.
“Eco-Art: Treasures From Trash” will be held Thursday for ages 6 to 12. Participants will play games and transform recyclable materials into bird feeders and other craft projects.
Fees are $5 for Discovery Museum members and $7 for non-members.
