VAN NUYS : Man Dies After Being Struck by 2 Cars
A retired Van Nuys man was killed when he was struck by two cars as he attempted to cross the street outside a crosswalk at Victory Boulevard near the intersection of Gloria Avenue, authorities said Thursday.
George Gureghian, 62, who lived less than one mile from the accident scene, was pronounced dead upon arrival at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys on Wednesday, said Officer Bill Rice of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The first car that hit Gureghian was driven by Steve Meinster, 43, a construction worker from Van Nuys. The driver of the second car, Danny Dam, of Rosemead, didn’t see Gureghian lying in the street, Rice said.
Neither motorist was cited for the accident, which occurred at about 6 p.m., Rice said.
