Share

A Thousand Oaks record store was robbed Tuesday morning by two men wearing sunglasses who fled in a red pickup truck stolen from the store manager.

The holdup at The Wherehouse, 1348 N. Moorpark Road, occurred about 8 a.m., just after the manager arrived to open the store.

An armed man confronted the manager in the parking lot and ordered him inside to open the store safe. After taking the cash, the suspects handcuffed the manager and a second employee who arrived during the robbery.

The suspects then took the manager’s keys and left in his 1993 Toyota pickup with California license plate 4N53310. Sheriff’s deputies were still searching for the truck Tuesday afternoon.

One suspect was described as a slightly heavyset Latino man with a mustache and short dark hair. He appeared to be about 5 feet 7 inches tall and wore a blue or gray coat and gray pants.

The other suspect had a thin build and was about the same height. He was wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt and blue pants.
