EL MONTE: A 19-year-old El Monte man was killed and his 20-year-old cousin, also from El Monte, was wounded by gunfire while standing in a carport Monday afternoon. Pedro Zarate Figuroa died at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center from a gunshot wound to the head at 8:45 p.m., police said. His cousin, Juan Figuroa, was wounded in the arm and leg and was in good condition at the same hospital. The motive for the shooting is not known.

POMONA: Two Los Angeles men were arrested Monday night on suspicion of attempted murder after they allegedly pushed a 31-year-old Pomona woman off a second-story apartment balcony in the 1300 block of Jacqueline Drive. Terrance Henry Banks, 20, and his brother Ronnie Lavelle Banks, 24, are being held without bail at Los Angeles County Jail. After the 11:30 p.m. incident, the victim, Yolanda Weaver, was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, where she was listed in good condition.

ROSEMEAD: Two Rosemead men were shot, one fatally, after attending a party Friday night. Armando Carreon, 30, and Arturo Montes, 39, were shot in front of a house in the 3200 block of Isabel Avenue about 10:15 p.m., sheriff’s deputies said.

SOUTH PASADENA: A 28-year-old South Pasadena woman was raped and robbed Friday night by a gunman who forced his way into her house. The woman was assaulted about 7:30 p.m. in her home in the 1100 block of Huntington Drive, police said.
