Cincinnati Bengal running back Derrick Fenner and two Cincinnati policeman were indicted by a Hamilton County grand jury.

Fenner was indicted on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He will plead innocent, his attorney, Kenneth Lawson, said.

Police officers Andre Eddings and Claudia Vercellotti were indicted on felony charges of perjury and obstruction of justice and misdemeanor charges of obstruction of justice in the Dec. 12 incident, Hamilton County prosecutor Joseph Deters said.

If convicted, the officers could face up to 3 1/2 years in prison. Fenner could face up to five months in jail.

Police alleged that the manager of the Parktown Cafe bar, George Beatty, offered Eddings and Vercellotti $5,000 each to pursue the original charges against Fenner as misdemeanors rather than felonies. Beatty has been indicted on bribery charges. He denies wrongdoing.

Fenner was charged last month with resisting arrest, resisting arrest while intoxicated and inciting violence, a felony. Those charges were dropped in what Deters then described as a tactical decision.

The officers are accused of lying to a grand jury and obstructing internal police investigations, Deters said.

Cornerback Terrell Buckley, victimized often in the Dallas Cowboys’ 35-9 rout Sunday, will be made available in the Feb. 15 expansion draft or waived by the Green Bay Packers if he won’t take a pay cut for next season, a newspaper reported.

The report in the Green Bay Press-Gazette identified the source of the information only as someone familiar with the situation.

Buckley’s salary next season, with prorated bonus, was reported as $1.8 million, described as sixth highest on the team for calculations of the salary cap. Releasing him was projected as saving the Packers about $1 million under the cap.

Packers spokesman Lee Remmel said the team had no comment.
