Even Glen Campbell Didn’t Get Rid of L.A.
Whatever happened to the Los Angeles Open? For more than 75 years, the people of this city and the Junior Chamber of Commerce have presented this historical golf tournament. In the name of civic goodwill, the members of the Riviera Country Club and the surrounding residents put up with monumental disruptions and inconvenience.
However, by continuing to insist that “Los Angeles” be dropped from the tournament title, Nissan’s positive contributions and intentions will be seriously diminished. What’s wrong with the Nissan L.A. Open? Let’s be sensible and sensitive. Put the Los Angeles back in the Los Angeles Open.
