PARTNER SWITCH: When Tom Liegler spearheaded the city of Anaheim’s drive to bring the Los Angeles Rams to Anaheim Stadium in the late 1970s, “I thought they’d be here forever.” But Liegler, then stadium general manager, had negotiated with team owner Carroll Rosenbloom, the late husband of current owner Georgia Frontiere. Rosenbloom died before the move was completed in 1980. Frontiere announced Tuesday the team’s move to St. Louis. . . . “We had a promising marriage, but we changed marriage partners,” Liegler says of the Anaheim-Rams relationship. “I’m so sad to see it end in divorce.”

MORE TERROR: If you’re worried that Disneyland’s new Indiana Jones ride--scheduled to open March 3--isn’t dramatic enough, you might take heart at this: Walt Disney Co. chairman Michael Eisner recently tested for himself the new “ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter” at Disney World in Florida--then sent it back to the drawing board. Eisner said it needed more intensity. . . . Note: He’s already tested--and approved for intensity--the Indiana Jones ride.

UNSELFISH RUN: When Huntington Beach firefighter Kent Holder runs a long distance race, he doesn’t worry about winning--just getting his partner, Harry Cordellos, to the finish line. Cordellos, an internationally known speaker from Northern California, is blind. Holder has been his guide runner in nearly two dozen marathons. . . . Says Holder: “He runs his race, not mine. I make him aware of hazards and obstacles.” Their next race: Next month’s Long Beach marathon.

HEADS UP PLAY? Isaac Ugay, 17, who once had beautiful brown locks, now has a bald head. But Ugay, the student member of the Brea Olinda Unified school board, says there’s an important reason. . . . He plays on Brea Olinda High School’s soccer team, and players are shaving their heads, he says, “to express team unity, because we are really tight.” Not that it’s paid off yet on the field: The team is just 3-6 with 4 ties. But it has two chances to improve this week.

WEATHER: Fair to partly cloudy. Highs in the mid-60s. Lows near 40. B6
