Seay Is Entertained by Sanders, but, Man, He’s Not Afraid of Him

“Why would I be scared of Prime Time?”

That is Mark Seay’s answer when someone has the audacity to ask how the San Diego receiver feels about being covered in Super Bowl XXIX by San Francisco’s Deion (Prime Time) Sanders.

“Prime Time is a nice guy, but he is a man, and I am a man. It is not a man going against a boy,” says Seay, the former Long Beach State athlete.

A Charger teammate, Tony Martin, told him of the time Sanders had advised against going long for a pass. “You are going to get high-stepped on,” Sanders warned Martin.

“Deion is funny,” Seay says.

“But now, I’d like to spend most of my time concentrating on what I have to do rather than talking, because we run some long routes. I need every bit of wind I can get.”
